Twins Bumpdate: 27 + 28 weeks

How far along?
27/28 weeks!  (Hello 3rd Trimester)

Babies are the size of?
Butternut Squash (14in each; 3lbs each)

Total weight gain/loss?
13lbs+

Are you showing?
Yes! Some days I feel huge and clearly look like I'm having twins and some days people are shocked when I tell them.

Cravings?
Fruit and vegetables.  I think it's helped that I've been at my in-laws and they try to eat pretty healthy.

Sleeping?
It's still a hit or miss situation.  Some nights it's decent and some nights I'm up at 3am and can't go back to sleep.

Symptoms?
Just tired.  I can't seem to get enough sleep.  Swelling isn't terrible, but it's definitely still there.

Genders?
TWINS GIRLS!  If you haven't seen our gender reveal, you can watch the video here and read my blog post here.

Movement?
My stomach looks like a scene from an alien movie.  It's crazy how much they are both moving.  Baby B moves way more than Baby A.

Mood this week?
A little stressed.

Best moment this week?
We have officially been in Kentucky for a few weeks now.  I got to do a little house hunting in Indiana while the girls stayed with my in-laws.  My husband flew up and met me and we put an offer in on a house and it was accepted!  We are anxious to close on our new home and make it our own.  I turned 31 this week, but didn't really do a lot of celebrating.  I mean, my husband bought us a new home, so that was a pretty big deal.  We missed fireworks, but had a little glow party in the living room instead.  Oh, and I spent a few hours in triage because my Braxton Hicks were so bad that I couldn't tell if they were actual contractions or not.

Twins Bumpdate: 25 + 26 weeks

How far along?
25/26 weeks!

Babies are the size of?
Eggplants (10in each; 2lbs each)

Total weight gain/loss?
11lbs+

Are you showing?
Yes! I was actually asked twice this week if I was due any day now! Haha!

Cravings?
I'm still craving Shrimp and Grits...any seafood really.

Sleeping?
It's still a hit or miss situation.  Some nights it's decent and some nights I'm up at 3am and can't go back to sleep.

Symptoms?
Swelling hasn't gone away and I've really bad acid indigestion and heartburn lately.  I get the occasional headache, but that could just be from having toddlers.

Genders?
TWINS GIRLS!  If you haven't seen our gender reveal, you can watch the video here and read my blog post here.

Movement?
My stomach looks like a scene from an alien movie.  It's crazy how much they are both moving.  Baby B moves way more than Baby A.

Mood this week?
It's been a bittersweet week for all of us.

Best moment this week?
We found out we would be leaving Florida this week because of a job my husband took in Indiana.  You can read about that here.  With that being said, we put our house on the market and planned as many activities and play dates as we could before we left.  We went to the Crayola Experience, Medieval Times and DISNEY WORLD!  We had a blast but it was exhausting.  We said goodbye and tried to see as many people as we could and love on them before our big trip to the Midwest.

Last Month with the Funk's | We've Moved!

Saturday, July 7, 2018

In the beginning of the year I started "last week with the Funk's" and kept up with it until I found out I was pregnant with twins and wow!  Bring on the exhaustion.  I literally couldn't get out of bed some days and when I could, I still could barely keep my eyes open.  Needless to say, I haven't posted a weekly update on our family in months, so I thought I would start monthly updates and we'll see how that goes. ;)

What a whirlwind of a month June was for our little family.  If you've been following along on Instagram, then you know we've moved!  When we found out we were expecting twins, we immediately knew that we were going to need help and wanted to be closer to family.  My husband is from Indiana, so we started to get a feel for the area and he started to reach out about a transfer for his job.  Little did we know that it would get approved and happen as quickly as it did.  With that being said, June was full of catching up and seeing as many friends as we could and getting in some Florida activities with our girls that we had yet to do.

Our last family photo in front of our FL home.

We went to Dinosaur World, which I highly recommend if there is one near you.  Besides being almost 6 months pregnant in the Florida heat/humidity when we went, we had a blast and it is easily somewhere we would go back to.

I got a prenatal massage which helped my sciatica pain tremendously, was showered by some of my favorite people for the twins and had a fun date night with my husband all in one weekend.  It was much needed knowing that the girls and I would be leaving soon and my husband would be staying in Florida to finish selling our home.

The girls and I went to a $1 movie to see Curious George.  If you don't already know, most theaters have Summer movie specials for kids and it's cheap and a good way to keep them entertained and beat the heat. We also attended a really fun event at ZooTampa.

We ended our last weekend in Florida with a family trip to Orlando which included going to Crayola Experience, Medieval Times and Disney World!!  Seriously such a fun weekend and I'm working on getting those blog posts ready.  We had planned on Legoland as well, but after 12 straight hours at Disney, this pregnant mama was exhausted.

Father's Day was low key as we did some more packing and just relaxed after a busy weekend.  My MIL flew in that next day and was able to help me do more around the house and keep the girls entertained as we prepared for our house to go on the market.

Like I said, crazy busy month that went by way too fast! We definitely didn't get to see everyone we wanted to, but I made so many wonderful friends during my last 8 years in Florida that I know we will back!

Last Week with the Funk's

Welcome to my (new) weekly post of what we did for the week!  I'll share things I'm loving, things I'm working on and everything in between. Some weeks will be exciting, but some will probably be boring #keepingitreal

I started out strong last month and keeping up with what we were up to during the weeks.  This month has been a completely different story, but for good reasons!  I took the last few weeks off because there are some big changes heading our way in the Funk house.  I can't wait to share what we've been up to and what we are gearing up for.  In the meantime, here's a look at what we've been up to for the last few weeks ;)

My girl's and I had a little Valentine's Day celebration with a few friends.  We decorated cookies, made Valentine's Day cards and played outside to get some of the sugar out of our systems.  Everything was either heart shaped or covered in sprinkles.  I'd say it was a win!

I was actually sick later in the week and didn't do much but catch up on sleep, which is part of the reason I haven't been blogging.  I'm way behind on all the fun things to do in Tampa posts I want to get out to y'all.

Over the weekend we went to a really fun Valentine's workshop at AR Workshop in St. Pete.  I had fun at their blogger event and couldn't wait to take my girls for their kids event.  They made the most adorable wood signs for their bedroom and did it all on their own (for the most part)!

I had the chance to get a little "me" time and head to a blog event at First Watch in Clearwater.  We tried out their new Sunrise Project coffee that is so good and of course ate some of their delicious food.  I will be sharing more about their coffee in a few weeks.

We spent our Valentine's Day morning at Lowry Park Zoo and finding out the new baby orangutan's name.  In case you missed my Instagram post, it's DIRA! We spent a few hours there seeing the animals, going on an expedition and feeding the birds before heading out for our MOPs Valentine's Day party at the park.  It was a fun, busy and sugar filled day!  I even got to go out to dinner with friends twice last week!  My husband is pretty awesome ;)

We ended our week and our weekend low key.  We hung around our house, I had a couple of photo-shoots and my husband put up our new fence; which was fine by me because we have a busy week ahead and then we are heading to Georgia for a kid-free vacation!

I hope you all have a great week!  Let me know if you have anything fun planned in the comments!

  • How far along?: 39 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: Swiss Chard bunch (19-21 in, 7-8lbs) (according to WTE Pregnancy)
  • Total weight gain/loss:  +28
  • Stretch Marks?  I'm a little bummed that I got stretch marks, but they are still very tiny so I know they won't be noticeable.  This baby is worth every single one, so I'm not complaining.  Still using Mustela and BioOil.
  • The Bump: Large and in charge!
  • Symptoms:  Does not be able to put on your own shoes count as a symptom?  I've hit that point in the pregnancy.  I definitely feel the baby dropping this week and I feel like everything make me a little nauseous.  I started swelling a little in my hands and feet this week too.
  • Food Cravings: Give me everything!
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope.
  • Sleep: I'm not sleeping much at all anymore.
  • What I miss:  Sleep.
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: Currently off :(  Hoping the swelling doesn't last long.
  • Any Names Picked Out Yet: Still nothing!  I don't know what we are going to do!
  • Gender: We've still managed to keep it a surprise from my family and friends.  Of course, if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know that Michael already let it out to his family.
  • Movement: I'm not sure what's going on in there, but the movement has been a little uncomfortable lately....and lots of it.
  • Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!  Thank goodness for Target and PinkBlush Maternity clothing.
  • Labor Signs:  Oh, yes.  My contractions seem like they are still picking up slowly.  Hopefully they are actually doing something.
  • Moment of the Week:  We are being induced on Saturday! I am so excited to finally meet our baby.  I'm a little sad I won't be going into labor on my own, but God has a great plan for our little family and I am trusting Him.
  • Feeling:  Still very emotional.
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  The arrival of our baby.

  • What I miss:  Sleep.
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: Currently off :(  Hoping the swelling doesn't last long.
  • Any Names Picked Out Yet: Well, looks like we are back to square one.  The names we did have picked out are now being second guessed.  Any suggestions?
  • Gender: We've still managed to keep it a surprise from my family and friends.  Of course, if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know that Michael already let it out to his family.

  • Labor Signs:  Oh, yes.  My contractions seem like they are still picking up slowly.  Hopefully they are actually doing something.
  • Moment of the Week:  We had a rough week.  I posted last week that we ended up going to the hospital because of my contractions, but got sent home.  When we finally got home (Monday morning), Emma was running another fever, but this time it got up to 104...YIKES!  It had been around 100 and manageable.  Not this time.  Ended up taking her to the doctor that same day and found out she had an ear infection.  We made it 18 months without her being sick, so I'm thankful for that.  Poor thing was miserable.  On a positive note, she is now over it and had a great report at her 18 month appointment.  Michael and I were able to enjoy a night out together and I got my hibachi and we even found a new place downtown that serves dessert and coffee late night.  It was perfect!
She has never just fallen asleep in my lap!  She felt awful.
Feeling better and reading a book to Gammy

  • Feeling:  Still very emotional.  I cried leaving Emma when I though we were going into labor.  I'm ready for our new baby, but also very scared.
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  I'm anxious to see what next week will bring at my appointment or if we will make it to 39 weeks.

  • Baby is the size of a: large cantaloupe (20-21 in, 6.5 lbs) (according to WTE Pregnancy)
  • Total weight gain/loss:  +24 (4 lbs in a week...oops)
  • Stretch Marks?  I'm a little bummed that I got stretch marks, but they are still very tiny so I know they won't be noticeable.  This baby is worth every single one, so I'm not complaining.  Still using Mustela and BioOil.
  • The Bump: It's finally hit me and I'm very large and uncomfortable.
  • Symptoms:  I've had some cramping in my legs in the evenings and of course, little sleep.  I'll be honest, it feels like someone kicked me in the lady parts...TMI?  Haha, but seriously, I'm so sore and I am starting to feel a lot of pressure.
  • Food Cravings: Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.  All day, every day.
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: No.
  • Sleep: I'm not sleeping much at all anymore.
  • What I miss:  Being able to tie my shoes.

  • Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!  Thank goodness for Target and PinkBlush Maternity clothing.
  • Labor Signs:  Starting to notice a few contractions in the evenings.  We actually ended up at the hospital over the weekend because they kept getting stronger and were about 10 minutes apart.  Unfortunately, I was not very dilated and got sent home.
  • Moment of the Week:  Poor Emma starting running a little fever this week, but we did manage to take her to the fair where Michael won her a giant stuffed duck!  I'm hoping that it's just teething, but she does have a runny nose.  Looks like we may be making a trip to the doctor for her soon.  I did catch her trying to put a diaper on her baby doll the other day.  It was so cute!  She is going to be such a great big sister.

  • Feeling:  Emotional and anxious to meet our new little one.
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  A good report at my OB appointment next week.  I'm hoping they tell me that I've dilated some more.
Emma has her 18 month appointment next week and we have plans to have a night out with friends (if baby funk 2 doesn't decide to arrive).

  • How far along?: 36 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: canary melon (20 in, 6 lbs) (according to WTE Pregnancy)
  • Total weight gain/loss:  +20
  • Stretch Marks?  I'm a little bummed that I got stretch marks, but they are still very tiny so I know they won't be noticeable.  This baby is worth every single one, so I'm not complaining.  Still using Mustela and BioOil.
  • The Bump: I don't feel like I've gotten much bigger...or maybe it's just wishful thinking.
  • Symptoms:  I've been a little moody this week.  Thank goodness Michael is so understanding!
  • Food Cravings: I'm still craving apples like crazy and thankful they aren't giving me heartburn like before.  Of course, I can't keep chocolate around because it's gone as soon as I see it.
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: I've been a little sick in the evenings, but I think it's from the contractions that I'm having.
  • Sleep: Starting to not get much sleep.  Once I wake up, I'm having trouble falling back to sleep.
  • What I miss:  I'm ready for a good cocktail once baby arrives :)
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: On.
  • Any Names Picked Out Yet: We've thrown a few new ones out there, but still only agree on two of them.
  • Gender: We've still managed to keep it a surprise from my family and friends.  Of course, if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know that Michael already let it out to his family.
  • Movement: Still kicking daily.
  • Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!  Thank goodness for Target and PinkBlush Maternity clothing.
  • Labor Signs:  Starting to notice a few contractions in the evenings.  My water broke so early with Emma, that I'm not sure I really know what a "real" contraction feel like just yet.
  • Best Moment of the Week:  We had a pretty uneventful week this week, with the exception of Halloween.  We had some friends come over for dinner and to hang out while we passed out candy in our driveway.  Emma dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood and we dressed our dog, Neko, up as the Big Bad Wolf disguised as Grandma.  He didn't enjoy it, but we thought it was great!

  • Feeling:  A little stressed.  With only a few shorts weeks left before baby comes, I don't feel like we are ready!
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  A good report at my OB appointment next week.  We also have plans to go to the carnival in town and possibly a date night!  Still preparing for baby to arrive at any time.
