Emma Grace | 15 Month Update

I can't believe Emma is a TODDLER!  She is already showing me what being a toddler is all about and testing me daily.  Ha!  She is so much fun and so silly.  She definitely has a lot of personality that I'm sure she gets from her daddy.

Age :: 15 months
Length :: 29inches
Weight :: 21 lbs

Growth :: I feel like Emma is growing like crazy every day.  It has been so great to see her learn new things.  She climbs everything and falls...a lot!  She has no fear and has even jumped into the pool, head first, and scared the life out of me.  After getting her out, she tried to do it again.  She's a little dare devil.  Her top and bottom molars have come in and I'm loving her little gap in her two front teeth.  She loves to show it off by saying "cheese".

Food  :: This girl can eat!  She loves to snack all day long.  She has come to love milk since we stopped breastfeeding (it took a couple of months).  She licks her lips and rubs her belly when I get the milk out of the fridge.  It's the cutest thing.  Her favorite is avocado(she could eat it every day), mac-n-cheese, corn, peas and this girl can devour any type of fruit.  She loves yogurt and anything bread related.  I mean, who doesn't love carbs?!  She is doing great with a fork and is getting better at getting most of her food in her mouth.  Oh-and her newest thing is eating bananas whole after I peel them.  She doesn't like them to be cut up and wants to do it herself.  She's a mess, but I love how independent she is.
Sleep :: I wish I could say that we have a great sleeper, but it's really hit or miss with her.  We have been traveling a lot and with time changes, she just can't seem to get adjusted.  Right now she is going to bed a little later than usual and wakes a few times at night.  She is good about putting herself back to sleep though.  She does still nap during the day, which I'm thankful for!  She decided about 3 weeks ago though that she only wanted one nap a day instead of the two she was taking.  Sad day for this momma!

Favorites :: Talking.  I'm pretty sure she is only quiet when she's sleeping and even then I hear an occasional sound.  She loves pretending to talk on the phone and skyping with her grandparents.  She takes the phones and chats away.  Dancing with daddy is really entertaining and I'm pretty sure he has taught her how to rave.  Haha.  Bath time is still a big hit and she is outside playing any chance I let her.

Doesn't like :: To not get her way.  Emma can throw a fit!  I'm hoping she is getting the terrible two's out of the way before the new baby gets here, but I'm sure I'm just dreaming.  She is very determined and does not like for things to be taken away from her.

It's so hard to keep up this girl, that I'm positive I'm leaving out a lot!  She is always on the go and keeps us busy.  We wouldn't trade any of it!

Emma Grace | BIG SIS TO BE

I am so excited that we finally got to announce our pregnancy with Baby Funk #2.  Things have been so crazy with Emma turning one last month that we put off taking pictures and announcing right away.  Of course, Michael had his own idea of a pregnancy announcement.  So, we had to do both!  Poor Emma, she was not very happy.  Lol.  Here are some pictures of our little photo-shoot with our sweet BIG SIS TO BE!

"Ummm....I don't think so."

"ya, I'm not going anywhere"

Emma Grace | 7 Month Update

These are the best pictures I could get this month.  She is always on the move...and apparently being 7 months old is serious business (as expressed in the bottom picture).  LOL.

Weight: 16.8 lbs (40% percentile)
Length: 26 inches (35% percentile)
Milestones:  I don't know what I am going to do with this girl.  She is walking with her walker and has started clapping.  She loves when we say "yay, Emma!" and she claps her little heart out.  She is saying mama and hi and still learning to wave hi/bye.  She has this cute little Miss America wave.  Emma has 5 teeth.  She also started playing Peek-a-Boo back with us.  It's sooo cute!
Sleep: She is back to sleeping through the night.  Almost 12 hours and still taking 2 naps during the day that are each 1-2 hours long.  I hope it stays like that!
Eating:  Still eating like a big girl.  She loves pretty much everything.  We started giving her yogurt and she has done really well.  That was something I was a little worried about with all the dairy.  She is a pro at picking food up and feeding herself.  I am still going strong breastfeeding.
Favorites:  Emma loves music.  This is something she definitely gets from her daddy.  I really hopes it continues.  She loves her shadow.  She tries so hard to grab it.  Her favorite thing to do is chase Neko, our dog, around.  Of course, he takes off as soon as he sees her coming. LOL.  She loves to play fetch with him too.  She gets so excited and kicks her little feet.  She has started doing this really silly (fake) laugh and I love it.  Her personality is starting to shine through.  She even fake coughs.  Haha.
Dislikes:  She still doesn't like to put on the changing table for very long.  We are definitely going through a little separation anxiety as well and she doesn't like when we leave the room.
Clothes:  She is in 6 month clothes and fitting into some 6-12 months.  She is growing so fast!

Happy 1/2 birthday to my sweet and fun-loving baby girl!

Weight: 15.6 lbs (49% percentile)
Length: 25 3/4 inches (60% percentile)
Milestones:  My goodness-Emma is standing.  She even lets go of whatever she is holding on to and tries to stand on her own.  She makes it a few seconds before falling on her bottom.  She is so determined! We almost have TWO more teeth!  I can see her bottom poking through and a big "bubble" on the top.  I have been reminded that she is teething too with how crazy uncomfortable she has been.  Teething is for the birds! She has learned to wave hi and bye.  It's still a work on progress, but she knows what she is doing.  It's so cute to see those little fingers and her hands moving.
Sleep:  Another vacation this month to Texas messed with her schedule, but she is still sleeping most of the night.  She is waking around 4 am to nurse, but then sleeps until 8am.
Eating:  Holy cow!  This girl loves to eat.  She is eating food now that I cut into chunks.  She has tried so many new things and I have even started letting her eat things that I eat.  I'm still careful about what I give her though.  Nothing processed or full of salt and sugar.  She loves avocado and can easily eat half of one chopped up during lunchtime.  We are still nursing as well...almost 7 months strong!!
Favorites:  She gets so excited when Baby Genius comes on.  It's part of her morning routine after playtime and when Mommy needs to take a shower.  Lol.  She is such a goofy girl and loves to make these weird screeching noises and then laugh.  She loves touching faces and of course, grabbing everything.  She still loves to read books and will sit still and study each page as we read them.  Bath time hasn't changes and she loves to look at herself in the mirror.  She really enjoys being outside and the weather has been amazing.
Dislikes:    Not much has changed about what Emma doesn't like.  She doesn't want to be still long enough to have her diaper change.  She is better about her car seat, but that is occasionally a struggle.  She is not a fan of her high chair.  She does not like her carseat at all these days.  It is a struggle to get her in it and she cries until we are in the car and moving.  Now that she can crawl, she doesn't like to be her chair for very long.  She does like her diaper changed when she's tired and fights us every time we try to put clothes on her.  She would be perfectly happy going around naked all the time.
Clothes:  She is in 6 month clothes and fitting into some 6-12 months.  She is growing so fast!

Early October we took a little road trip to Kentucky/Indiana to visit Michael's family.  Michael and I had a chance to spend the day in Indianapolis and had such a good time.  Here are a few pictures from our first family road trip and mini vacay.  It was absolutely gorgeous there and I can't wait to go back.
