  • How far along?: 38 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: winter melon (21 in, 7 lbs) (according to WTE Pregnancy)
  • Total weight gain/loss:  +26
  • Stretch Marks?  I'm a little bummed that I got stretch marks, but they are still very tiny so I know they won't be noticeable.  This baby is worth every single one, so I'm not complaining.  Still using Mustela and BioOil.
  • The Bump: Large and in charge!
  • Symptoms:  Does not be able to put on your own shoes count as a symptom?  I've hit that point in the pregnancy.  I definitely feel the baby dropping this week and I feel like everything make me a little nauseous.  I started swelling a little in my hands and feet this week too.
  • Food Cravings: Hibachi.
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Almost everything.
  • Sleep: I'm not sleeping much at all anymore.
  • What I miss:  Sleep.
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: Currently off :(  Hoping the swelling doesn't last long.
  • Any Names Picked Out Yet: Well, looks like we are back to square one.  The names we did have picked out are now being second guessed.  Any suggestions?
  • Gender: We've still managed to keep it a surprise from my family and friends.  Of course, if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know that Michael already let it out to his family.
  • Movement: I'm not sure what's going on in there, but the movement has been a little uncomfortable lately....and lots of it.
  • Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!  Thank goodness for Target and PinkBlush Maternity clothing.
  • Labor Signs:  Oh, yes.  My contractions seem like they are still picking up slowly.  Hopefully they are actually doing something.
  • Moment of the Week:  We had a rough week.  I posted last week that we ended up going to the hospital because of my contractions, but got sent home.  When we finally got home (Monday morning), Emma was running another fever, but this time it got up to 104...YIKES!  It had been around 100 and manageable.  Not this time.  Ended up taking her to the doctor that same day and found out she had an ear infection.  We made it 18 months without her being sick, so I'm thankful for that.  Poor thing was miserable.  On a positive note, she is now over it and had a great report at her 18 month appointment.  Michael and I were able to enjoy a night out together and I got my hibachi and we even found a new place downtown that serves dessert and coffee late night.  It was perfect!
She has never just fallen asleep in my lap!  She felt awful.
Feeling better and reading a book to Gammy

  • Feeling:  Still very emotional.  I cried leaving Emma when I though we were going into labor.  I'm ready for our new baby, but also very scared.
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  I'm anxious to see what next week will bring at my appointment or if we will make it to 39 weeks.

Dress :: PinkBlush Maternity

  • How far along?: 37 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: large cantaloupe (20-21 in, 6.5 lbs) (according to WTE Pregnancy)
  • Total weight gain/loss:  +24 (4 lbs in a week...oops)
  • Stretch Marks?  I'm a little bummed that I got stretch marks, but they are still very tiny so I know they won't be noticeable.  This baby is worth every single one, so I'm not complaining.  Still using Mustela and BioOil.
  • The Bump: It's finally hit me and I'm very large and uncomfortable.
  • Symptoms:  I've had some cramping in my legs in the evenings and of course, little sleep.  I'll be honest, it feels like someone kicked me in the lady parts...TMI?  Haha, but seriously, I'm so sore and I am starting to feel a lot of pressure.
  • Food Cravings: Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.  All day, every day.
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: No.
  • Sleep: I'm not sleeping much at all anymore.
  • What I miss:  Being able to tie my shoes.
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: On.
  • Labor Signs:  Starting to notice a few contractions in the evenings.  We actually ended up at the hospital over the weekend because they kept getting stronger and were about 10 minutes apart.  Unfortunately, I was not very dilated and got sent home.
  • Moment of the Week:  Poor Emma starting running a little fever this week, but we did manage to take her to the fair where Michael won her a giant stuffed duck!  I'm hoping that it's just teething, but she does have a runny nose.  Looks like we may be making a trip to the doctor for her soon.  I did catch her trying to put a diaper on her baby doll the other day.  It was so cute!  She is going to be such a great big sister.

  • Feeling:  Emotional and anxious to meet our new little one.
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  A good report at my OB appointment next week.  I'm hoping they tell me that I've dilated some more.
Emma has her 18 month appointment next week and we have plans to have a night out with friends (if baby funk 2 doesn't decide to arrive).

  • How far along?: 36 Weeks
  • Baby is the size of a: canary melon (20 in, 6 lbs) (according to WTE Pregnancy)
  • Total weight gain/loss:  +20
  • Stretch Marks?  I'm a little bummed that I got stretch marks, but they are still very tiny so I know they won't be noticeable.  This baby is worth every single one, so I'm not complaining.  Still using Mustela and BioOil.
  • The Bump: I don't feel like I've gotten much bigger...or maybe it's just wishful thinking.
  • Symptoms:  I've been a little moody this week.  Thank goodness Michael is so understanding!
  • Food Cravings: I'm still craving apples like crazy and thankful they aren't giving me heartburn like before.  Of course, I can't keep chocolate around because it's gone as soon as I see it.
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: I've been a little sick in the evenings, but I think it's from the contractions that I'm having.
  • Sleep: Starting to not get much sleep.  Once I wake up, I'm having trouble falling back to sleep.
  • What I miss:  I'm ready for a good cocktail once baby arrives :)
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: On.
  • Any Names Picked Out Yet: We've thrown a few new ones out there, but still only agree on two of them.
  • Gender: We've still managed to keep it a surprise from my family and friends.  Of course, if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know that Michael already let it out to his family.
  • Movement: Still kicking daily.
  • Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!  Thank goodness for Target and PinkBlush Maternity clothing.
  • Labor Signs:  Starting to notice a few contractions in the evenings.  My water broke so early with Emma, that I'm not sure I really know what a "real" contraction feel like just yet.
  • Best Moment of the Week:  We had a pretty uneventful week this week, with the exception of Halloween.  We had some friends come over for dinner and to hang out while we passed out candy in our driveway.  Emma dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood and we dressed our dog, Neko, up as the Big Bad Wolf disguised as Grandma.  He didn't enjoy it, but we thought it was great!

  • Feeling:  A little stressed.  With only a few shorts weeks left before baby comes, I don't feel like we are ready!
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  A good report at my OB appointment next week.  We also have plans to go to the carnival in town and possibly a date night!  Still preparing for baby to arrive at any time.

    Old Wive's Tales | Baby Funk 2

    Tuesday, November 10, 2015

With the arrival of Baby Funk 2 arriving soon, I thought it would be fun to see if we are going to have a girl or boy according to some Old Wives Tales.

Old Wives Tale #1- Heart Rate

They say that 140+ beats per minute indicates a girl, and below 140 a boy.

Baby's heartbeat at our appointment today was around 146 and has been around that or more each time.

    Boy-0 Girl-1

    Old Wives Tale #2- Cravings

They say if you are craving sweets, it's a girl.  Salty and sour usually means boy.

This one is hard, because I crave just about everything.  Lol.  Probably more sweets though.

    Boy-0 Girl-2

Old Wives Tale #3- Shape of Belly

If you are carrying high with a big, round belly, you are having a girl.

If you are carrying low with a smaller belly that sticks straight out, it's a boy.

I am carrying very high with this pregnancy which indicates a girl, but with Emma I carried kind of wide and lower....so who knows.

    Boy-0 Girl-3

Old Wives Tale #4- Chinese Birth Chart

This chart takes your age of conception and the month you conceived to predict gender.  According to this chart, we are having a girl.

    Boy-0 Girl-4 (geez...girl is kicking butt)

Old Wives Tale #5- The Mayan Tale

The Mayan tale adds the mother’s age at conception and the year of conception.

If the result is a even number then mom is having a girl.  If the result is an odd number then a boy is on the way!

    27 + 2015 = 2042   According to this, we are having a girl.

    Boy-0 Girl-5

    Old Wives Tale #6- Skin

They say that if you have acne or bad skin, then it’s a girl.  I’m guessing because of the extra hormones.  I had great skin with both this pregnancy and my first.

    Boy-1 Girl-5

Old Wives Tale #7- Clumsy vs. Graceful

They say if you are graceful during your pregnancy, then it’s a girl.  If you are clumsy, it’s a boy.  I don’t think I’m ever graceful.  Lol

    Boy-2 Girl-5

Old Wives Tale #8- Morning Sickness

Sick as a dog during the first trimester—or still; indicates you’re having a girl.  Little to no morning sickness points to a boy.

    Boy-3 Girl-5

Old Wives Tale #9- Side you most rest on

They say if you prefer your right side, it’s a boy.  If you prefer your left, it’s a girl.  I have been more comfortable laying on my right side this pregnancy, but sleep on both.

    Boy-4 (catching up) Girl-5

Old Wives Tale #10- Hair on Legs

They say if the hair on your legs is growing at record speed, it’s a girl.  I feel like I have to shave every other day!  Not that I actually do though :/  Lol

    Boy-4 Girl-6

Old Wives Tale #11- Hands are dry

They say if you have dry hands all the time, it’s a boy.  My hands and feet both have been very dry and cold this pregnancy.  Another one for the boy.

    Boy-5 Girl-6

    Old Wives Tale #12- Headaches

They say if you are having headaches, it’s a boy.  Thankfully I haven’t had many.  I did get a few during the second trimester, but I don’t think that’s enough to say boy.

    Boy-5 Girl-7

Old Wives Tale #13- Baby Names

They say when you can only think of names for one gender, you will have that particular baby.  Michael and I have only ever agreed on boy names.

    Boy-6 Girl-7

Old Wives Tale #14- Daddy’s Gaining Weight

They say if your hubby is putting on a little sympathy weight and indulging in your pregnancy cravings with you, you’re in for a sugary-sweet little girl.  We will just go ahead a give that point to the girl J

    Boy-6 Girl-8

Old Wives Tale #15- Moody vs. Mellow

They say if you’re feeling more moody vs. mellow, you might be having a girl.  If you are more chilled out, legend has it that you will be having a boy.  Considering the fact that I cried over a chicken sandwich last night, I will have to give this one to the girl too.

    Boy-6 Girl-9

    IT’S A GIRL….according to Old Wives Tales

Not much longer until everyone will find out!  We can’t wait!

    • Total weight gain/loss:  +20
    • Stretch Marks?  Well, it finally happened.
    • Food Cravings: I'm not really craving anything this week, but it has been hard not to dig into all the Halloween candy we have for next weekend.
    • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Nope.
    • Sleep: Other than still getting up a million times in the middle of the night, sleep is pretty decent.
    • What I miss:  Cooler weather.  I could really go for some right now.  Florida needs to get with it...especially with my hormones out of control.
    • Weddings Rings On or Off: On.
    • Any Names Picked Out Yet: I think we have narrowed it down to a few that we both agree on, but that could change.  Michael doesn't like what I like and I don't like what he likes.  Lol.
    • Gender: We've still managed to keep it a surprise from my family and friends.  Of course, if you've been keeping up with my posts, you know that Michael already let it out to his family.

    • Maternity Clothes: Oh, yes!  Thank goodness for Target and PinkBlush Maternity clothing.

    • Best Moment of the Week:  This weekend we got to spend time with our friends and their boys at the pumpkin patch.  We had such a good time.  We let them nap afterwards and then did a little pumpkin painting.  Later that evening we went to Halloween Happening and they got to dress up in their costumes.  Emma was worn out by the end of all of it!

    Corn Maze

  • Feeling:  Thankful!
  • What I'm excited about/looking forward to:  Emma's second Halloween next week and her first time to go out!  We will also have some friends over again this year and a cookout, which is always fun!

This is what getting up at 4am and then a 3 hour flight looks like!  Haha!
    Emma's first pep rally.
She found an angel in my grandma's front yard and thought it was so neat! She kept trying to hug and kiss it.

Emma and Treylea at the football game.

Review and Giveaway | Six Sassy Sistas Oils

    Monday, November 2, 2015

I love when I get contacted about reviewing a new and upcoming product.  I was excited to try these oils, especially being pregnant.  Anything to help moisture my skin to try and prevent or limit the appearance of stretch marks is ok by me!  Big plus if it smells good too.  These oils from Six Sassy Sistas did both!

I am always hesitant about oils because I feel like they can be really greasy or leave stains on clothing.  These didn't do that at all.  I used them in the shower and loved using them on my growing belly before bed in the evening.  It was nice to go to bed smelling good too.

These serums/oils come in 3 different sizes.  I received the travel spritzers and I loved them.  They were just the right size for what I used and it was nice to tuck them away in my purse.  I even packed a few of the scents in my delivery bag for the hospital.  They are chemical free so I feel comfortable taking them with me around the new baby.

The scents I reviewed were Happy Girls are the Prettiest (lemon), Where There's a Will There's a Way (crisp green apple), It doesn't Hurt to be a Lady (ooey, gooey, caramel), Toes in the Water (coconut) and Fragrance Free.  My favorite was the apple and coconut!  How fun are those names too?!

Some uses for the serum are listed below and you can also find them on Six Sassy Sista's website.

    Sassy Serum Uses

Skin moisturizer – Throw out those chemical filled lotions! Soften your skin the safe way.
Exfoliating and cellulite scrub – Have fresh coffee grinds laying around? The caffeine tightens and provides antioxidants to the skin, reducing the appearance of cellulite. No coffee? Use sugar instead for a refreshing scrub.
Nail and cuticle conditioner – Keep those hands youthful looking and treat your nails to moisture to keep them looking great, long after the manicure fades!
Stretch marks – The incredible combination of moisturizing ingredients helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
Make up remover – All you need is your sassy serum, a washcloth, and water.
Hair conditioner – Excellent overnight treatment for dry and/or damaged hair.
Shave those legs – Shave without razor burn! For an even smoother shave, pair with the exfoliating scrub.
Don’t forget the kids! Use with eczema, cradle cap, and diaper rash.

Dani from Six Sassy Sistas and The Littlest Funk blog have teamed up to give away a spritzer in one of their new Winter scents!  Head over to our Instagram page for the details.

Right now you can also receive 10% off your purchase using code 'sassydani' at checkout.  This is such a great deal because their prices are wonderful already.

Be sure to follow Six Sassy Sistas on Facebook and Instagram.

    • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Apples.  They are giving me the worst indigestion.
    • Sleep: Still surrounding myself with lots of pillows and getting up every few hours, but it's good.

    • Labor Signs: No!  I am definitely not ready yet!
