Hooked on Trophy Fish | St. Pete's First Fresh Fish House

Thank you to Trophy Fish for including us in their influencer event.  As always, my posts are 100% honest and my own.

T-minus 1 day until the grand opening of downtown Saint Petersburg's first ever fresh fish  house, Trophy Fish(Say that 5 times fast!)

I was so excited to be a part of Trophy Fish's preview event that I even sat out in the rain for it (sort of).  It literally started pouring down rain as soon I pulled up.  It is all outdoor seating and a little rain wasn't going to stop me from enjoying the atmosphere.

I started the night off with the most delicious mocktail!  I still have no idea how the bartender made it, but it was so good.  All of their boat drinks are handcrafted and are named just as fun as they look and taste, like Mermaid Water and Pineapple Seaduction.  They even have a drink that actually comes in a pineapple, that I may have borrowed from This Jenn Girl for photo purposes ;)

Next up, appetizers and seriously the best fish spread I have ever had.  It was seasoned perfectly and had such great flavor.  It was followed by fried pickles (I was in preggo heaven) and hush-puppies, which was not disappointing at all.

I really cannot recommend Trophy Fish enough.  It's all I've talked about since I had the opportunity to go and I highly encourage you to check them out.  I had a citrus rubbed Grouper sandwich for dinner and it was amazing.  Definitely worth the wait because I can guarantee you that this place will be packed.  What I really love about this place is that you know what you are getting, fresh caught fish.  The owners are born and raised St. Pete so you know you are getting the best and supporting local fisherman.  You can read more about Trophy Fish here and see what kind of fish they will be bringing in!  Be sure to "catch" them starting June 1st and head over to their Instagram page for a giveaway!

Twins Bumpdate: 17 + 18 weeks

How far along?
17/18 weeks!

Babies are the size of?
Sweet Potatoes (about 5.5in each; 5oz)

Total weight gain/loss?
5lbs

Are you showing?
Yes! Much sooner than I ever did with my other two, but I love it.

Cravings?
Breakfast burritos with homemade tortillas and I finally gave in and made some...and then ate entirely too many.  Sadly, I still can't drink hot coffee.  It leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.

Sleeping?
It's hit or miss. Some nights are good, some not so great.

Symptoms?
I'm feeling better lately.  I still get tired and I've short of breath in the mornings, but have managed to get out and about with my girls.

Genders?
The ultrasound tech confirmed the genders and I can't wait to tell our family and friends.  Especially my husband since he wants to be surprised.

Movement?
I'm starting to feel kicks, but they are still not strong enough to feel from the outside.  It's weird because they are coming from all over the place and I don't know which one is kicking and moving.

Mood this week?
It's been a good few weeks.  We've stayed busy and still managed to get some rest.  We have big things that are happening over the next month and I'm anxious/excited to see where that goes.

Best moment this week?
Getting a much needed break from my girls.  Sometimes I just need one and that's ok.  I went to brunch with friends and afterward still had a couple of hours to kill, so I walked along the water and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  I also took the girls to a local place called Growing Up and they played and made a craft.  It was a lot of fun!

Moms Just Wanna...Get a Break | 24 hours in Lido Key, FL

We all know that being a mom isn't easy.  I had been feeling really overwhelmed lately and needed a break in the worst way.  My sweet husband watched our girls and I headed to Lido Key, Florida with a couple of girlfriends.  We were only gone for twenty-four hours and it was just what we needed.

Even with a storm strolling in, we had a blast and you couldn't beat the view we had.  Shout out to Holiday Inn for accommodating us to a Gulf view room and delicious snacks.  The hotel is gorgeous and the perfect location for heading to the beach or walking over to St. Armands Circle for shopping, restaurants and spas.  Our room had that coastal feel that you want when vacationing on the water and we couldn't get over the chairs in the lobby.

There are so many incredible restaurants in St. Armands Circle that it was hard to decide where to go.  We stumbled upon The Terrace at Surf Shack and ended up staying there all night.  They had live music which was extremely entertaining and the food was delicious.  They have a large taco menu and we all tried different ones.  I had the Key West Cuban Scallops and Bangin Shrimp tacos.  Sooo good!  And of course, in true pregnancy fashion, I ended the night with turtle ice cream from Kilwans.  Yum!

I love that we didn't have to drive far to feel like we actually got time away from our kids.  I came back home feeling refreshed and recharged.  We stayed out late without the consequence of having to get up early.  It was nice to sleep in, drink my coffee hot and take a walk along the beach.

This would also be the perfect spot for a romantic getaway and I definitely plan to go back with my husband.

Thing to do Tampa Bay | AR Workshop- ST. Pete

If you haven't head of AR Workshop in St. Pete, you are missing out.  It is the cutest boutique workshop and the perfect combination of power tools and DIY creativity.

I had the opportunity to visit AR Workshop for a blog event in January (I know that was 4 months ago #pregnantlife #momlife) and had an absolute blast!

The space is gorgeous and it's such a fun set-up, including a drink bar!  I had been wanting something for our kitchen and found/made the perfect piece.  AR Workshop allows you to choose what you would like to create and even have custom options.  The possibilities are endless and I love that it's DIY.  It was much easier than I thought it would be and so much fun.

You can host a private event at their location or choose from one of their many classes.  This would be perfect for a girl's night out or a date night with your significant other!  It's would even be a great idea to pass the time with all the rain we are going to get this weekend.

They even hold classes for kids and my girls had a blast attending over Valentine's.  It was easy enough for even my 2 year old and held her attention the entire time.  This is something we will definitely be back to do together.

Twins Bumpdate: 15 + 16 weeks

How far along?
15/16 weeks!

Babies are the size of?
Avocados (about 4-5in each; 3-5oz)
Total weight gain/loss?
Surprisingly only about a pound.
Are you showing?
Clearly.  Haha!  I keep having to remind myself that I'm growing two babies.
Cravings?
Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and french fries with mustard.  Aside from that, just food in general.  Sadly, I still can't drink hot coffee.  It leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.
Sleeping?
I can't seem to get comfortable, but it could be worse.  Right now I'm up every few hours to pee!
Symptoms?
I'm still pretty exhausted, but not falling asleep every time I sit down.  I'm a little nauseous in the evenings, but thankfully not throwing up.  Pregnancy pops seems to help.
Genders?
The ultrasound tech told me what she thinks they are, but it was just for fun ;) Hopefully announcing soon.
Movement?
I think I feel flutters, but nothing crazy.

Mood this week?
Thankful. I'm so happy we were able to share our news and that everything seems to be going well.  I have another ultrasound next week that I'm so excited for and so grateful to be surrounded by so many wonderful people this week.
Best moment this week?
So many this week!  We celebrated Easter, went out boating, enjoyed soccer games and play dates! I even got a morning out and had brunch with a friend.

 Twins Bumpdate: 13 + 14 weeks

How far along?
14 weeks!  Finally through the first trimester and feeling very excited about that.

Babies are the size of?
Lemons (about 3in each)

Total weight gain/loss?
Surprisingly only about a pound.

Are you showing?
Clearly.  Haha!  I keep having to remind myself that I'm growing two babies.

Cravings?
Cold cereal and sour pickles (not together).  Sadly, I can't drink hot coffee.  It leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.

Sleeping?
I can't seem to get comfortable, but it could be worse.  Right now I'm up every few hours to pee!

Symptoms?
Super exhausted....it's unreal.  I can barely keep my eyes open.  I'm a little nauseous in the evenings, but thankfully not throwing up.  Pregnancy pops seems to help.

Genders?
The ultrasound tech told me what she thinks they are, but it was just for fun ;)

Movement?
I think I feel flutters, but nothing crazy.

Mood this week?
I'm feeling a lot better this week.  My anxiety has eased up some now that we have made it through the first trimester, but I still have moments of fear.  I plan on writing and sharing about these feelings soon.  Pregnancy after a miscarriage has not been as easy or as joyful as I thought it would be.  Actually, I'm not sure I even knew what it would be like.  I am getting excited now we have shared our big news.

Best moment this week?
Even though I have no energy, I've tried to keep myself and my girls busy.  We went to Busch Gardens and I took Emma on a mommy and me date to Disney on Ice.

A Birthday Fiesta! | Emma turns 4

Tuesday, May 15, 2018

Emma's birthday weekend fell on Cinco de Mayo this year, so naturally we had to have a fiesta themed birthday party for her.  It's probably the last year I can talk her into the kind of party we want to have, but maybe not.  She's pretty easy going.

I tried to keep it simple this year.  Being 19 weeks pregnant with twins and easily exhausted, I knew the less I had to do, the better.  It turned out great!  We had a taco bar, pina colada fruit salad, and ended with cactus cupcakes and choco-tacos.  The fruit salad was incredible and I would definitely make it again for any other occasion or Summer party.

For drinks, I made an easy "cactus juice" for the kids and of course, margaritas and cerveza for the adults.  Minus me, whose drink was non-alcoholic.

We put up our bounce house and threw in a slip-n-slide and inflatable pool for several hours of entertainment.  The kids had so much fun and I didn't hear any complaints!  I had planned on DIY maracas for the kids and had a giant taco pinata, both of which we didn't get to because they were having so much fun playing outside.
