Product Review | I DO VOX BOX

No comments
I love getting free product in the mail.  I mean, who wouldn't?!  I recently receive some amazing products courtesy of Influenster for my unbiased review and opinion.  Here are my thoughts!

SkinnyGirl Nutrition Bar

I loved this bar! It was delicious.  It was much better than I thought it would be considering it is a nutritional bar. The lemon swirl had a great lemon flavor that wasn't overwhelming. I would definitely recommend this flavor and brand. It filled me right up.  I love that this is a product I can count on while pregnant since I am hungry ALL the time.

Neutrogena Hand Cream

I really enjoyed this product! I use a lot of hand soap since I have a 15 month old and I am constantly washing my hands. This tends to dry them out. I noticed an immediate difference when using this hand cream. However, I would recommend putting it on before bed in the evening. Only because it was a little greasy for me. I didn't like the way it felt, but I loved the way it made my hands feel in the morning. Definitely worth the purchase if you have dry or chapped hands.

This was actually a decent snack.  Not my favorite, but good.  I did not like the cranberries at all.  I don't know what it was about them, but I didn't care for them.  They were too chewy for me and I like cranberries.  The flavor was there, but I'm not sure this is a product I would buy in the future.  It is good for on the go and it was a nice snack to have in my purse when I got a little hungry.

This product was great. I don't normally use foundation as I don't wear a lot of makeup. I find that most products feel heavy or make me break out. However, the CoverGirl Outlasts Stay Luminous Foundation was neither of those things. It was very light and it didn't feel like I was wearing foundation at all. It didn't irritate my skin and lasted all day and still looked great when I went out for the evening. That says a lot considering I live in Florida and the heat is ridiculous. It was easy to remove and definitely a product that I will continue to use. It made my skin look flawless and smooth.

My new favorite, go-to lipstick! This color was perfect for my skin tone and went on smooth. It didn'tflake and made my lips feel soft. The color actually lasted most of the day and I only re-applied it once, but really I didn't have to. I just wanted to re-apply it. It does rub off, so I couldn't give my daughter a kiss on the cheek without having to rub it off her face, but other than that this is a great product that I highly recommend. I can't wait to get other colors to try out.

I am always hesitant to put anything on my face (makeup, creams, face wash, etc.).  I'm always afraid I will break out or it will do something weird to my skin.  I've always had pretty clear skin as well, so I don't worry too much about it.  This product was not my favorite and I don't think I would use it again.  I put a small amount near my nose where I had a small line.  It did nothing but turn my face a little red and burn.  It is supposed to be instant correction of lines and wrinkles, but I do not feel like it did anything.  Of course, I also do not feel like this is a product that I need, so I would not recommend it to others.  I was glad that I was able to test it out though.

It was so much fun getting to try out these products and review them for y'all!  I can't wait to share my thoughts on other goodies in the future.

Recipe | Taco Soup

Monday, August 10, 2015

No comments
I don't know about y'all, but I am so ready for the Fall!!  Football, pumpkin spice, soup, warm clothes and so much more!

Saturday here in Florida was rainy and gloomy outside and it felt like one of those cool Fall days that I love, so I couldn't resist making one of my favorite soups, Taco Soup.  It is so easy to make!  It was hard not to put on sweatpants and light a spiced scented candle to go with the mood I was in :)

Here is the recipe:
  • 1lb ground beef (you could also use turkey)
  • 1 small yellow onion (or 1/2 large)
  • 1 can corn
  • 1 can Ranch Style Beans
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 small can of diced green chilies
  • 1 pkg Taco Seasoning (I like McCormick)
  • 1 pkg Ranch Dressing Seasoning (optional-I add it if I have it on hand, but don't go out of my way to buy it for this dish.  It does add a nice tangy taste to the soup.)
Directions:
  • Brown ground beef and onion until cooked.
  • While beef is browning, combine all other ingredients in a large pot (corn, beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, green chilies and taco seasoning) on Med High heat.
  • Once beef and onion are cooked, add them to the pot.  Heat through until bubbly.
  • Enjoy with your favorite taco toppings-sour cream, avocado, jalapeños, etc.
We love ours with shredded cheese and corn chips!  The best part about this dish is that you can freeze it for up to 3 months and it is even better left over!

ENJOY :)

Emma Grace | 15 Month Update

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

I can't believe Emma is a TODDLER!  She is already showing me what being a toddler is all about and testing me daily.  Ha!  She is so much fun and so silly.  She definitely has a lot of personality that I'm sure she gets from her daddy.

Age :: 15 months
Length :: 29inches
Weight :: 21 lbs

Growth :: I feel like Emma is growing like crazy every day.  It has been so great to see her learn new things.  She climbs everything and falls...a lot!  She has no fear and has even jumped into the pool, head first, and scared the life out of me.  After getting her out, she tried to do it again.  She's a little dare devil.  Her top and bottom molars have come in and I'm loving her little gap in her two front teeth.  She loves to show it off by saying "cheese".

Food  :: This girl can eat!  She loves to snack all day long.  She has come to love milk since we stopped breastfeeding (it took a couple of months).  She licks her lips and rubs her belly when I get the milk out of the fridge.  It's the cutest thing.  Her favorite is avocado(she could eat it every day), mac-n-cheese, corn, peas and this girl can devour any type of fruit.  She loves yogurt and anything bread related.  I mean, who doesn't love carbs?!  She is doing great with a fork and is getting better at getting most of her food in her mouth.  Oh-and her newest thing is eating bananas whole after I peel them.  She doesn't like them to be cut up and wants to do it herself.  She's a mess, but I love how independent she is.
Sleep :: I wish I could say that we have a great sleeper, but it's really hit or miss with her.  We have been traveling a lot and with time changes, she just can't seem to get adjusted.  Right now she is going to bed a little later than usual and wakes a few times at night.  She is good about putting herself back to sleep though.  She does still nap during the day, which I'm thankful for!  She decided about 3 weeks ago though that she only wanted one nap a day instead of the two she was taking.  Sad day for this momma!

Favorites :: Talking.  I'm pretty sure she is only quiet when she's sleeping and even then I hear an occasional sound.  She loves pretending to talk on the phone and skyping with her grandparents.  She takes the phones and chats away.  Dancing with daddy is really entertaining and I'm pretty sure he has taught her how to rave.  Haha.  Bath time is still a big hit and she is outside playing any chance I let her.

Doesn't like :: To not get her way.  Emma can throw a fit!  I'm hoping she is getting the terrible two's out of the way before the new baby gets here, but I'm sure I'm just dreaming.  She is very determined and does not like for things to be taken away from her.

It's so hard to keep up this girl, that I'm positive I'm leaving out a lot!  She is always on the go and keeps us busy.  We wouldn't trade any of it!
